Hope in Jesus

Lights hanging in a tree or bush with the words "Hope" spelled out with lights, also.

"HOPE IN JESUS"

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.

HOPE IN JESUS God's word tells us that we have to follow his commandments.  Jeremiah 17:6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. KJV That is not the kind of person that I want to be.  I don't want to be one who trust in man and what man can do for me.  Here is what I want to do:  7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. KJV

PORNOGRAPHY ADDICTION IS THERE HOPE Christ can give you everything you need but you have to believe in him. 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. KJV

Wow! That is a great thought and a great concept to know that the fruit will always be there because my hope is in the Lord.  In Joel, 3:16  The Lord also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the Lord will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel. KJV He is not only their strength but he is ours, also.

When I think about the birth of Jesus Christ, many times in my mind I think about a man who was in Jerusalem named Simeon.  The Lord had told Simeon that he wouldn't see death until he saw the Lord's Christ. He was waiting for God to send this consolation of Israel.

Luke 2:25 And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.  26 And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.  Here is the thing, a lot of people don't believe that Jesus is the Christ.  They don't believe that he is the Christ of God.  They don't believe that he is the Son of God...He is the Son of God!

WHY DO I FEEL HOPELESS When Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross, the bible said that he gave up the ghost, and history will tell you that Jesus died between two thieves on Golgotha's Hill.  When he died, there was a Centurion soldier that looked at him and said, "Truly this is the Son of God".  I believe that today.

I believe Jesus is the Son of God, and he is the Christ.  If you don't have your hope in Jesus Christ, then you don't have any hope.  All you have is eternal damnation that is coming your way. I believe Jesus is our Redeemer.  He is the one that we need to turn to.  If you are distressed today...if you have no hope...if you are without God in your life, turn to Jesus Christ.  Believe in him.  Let me show you where you can have peace.

Hebrews 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. KJV

Words "Never Lose Hope" written on the sand with rocks.

I FEEL HOPELESS AND ALONE There is the key. You have got to have faith. In 1st Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three: but the greatest of these is charity. KJV  You have to have faith...you have to believe that Jesus Christ is if you want to enter into that rest.

Matthew 11:28 Jesus said, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" KJV  There is a rest that you can have if you are troubled, and you feel like you have no hope.  You can have that hope.  You can have a joy...you can have peace if you will truly turn your heart and life over to Jesus Christ.

Who do you put your hope in today?  Is it your boss, the president or some other country's leader? Jesus is the Son of the Living God...that is where your hope is...our hope is in the Lord.  If the Lord Jesus Christ is not yours, let me introduce him to you.

"Come unto me", Jesus said..."I will give you rest."

Water Baptism

A baptising in Redwine's Cove - Dalton, GA.

"WATER BAPTISM"

Why do people get baptized?

WATER BAPTISM  Matthew 28: 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.  Amen.

REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED  That was a commandment that Jesus Christ gave his disciples.  Today, that commission has been given to me and any God called preacher to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved.  That is what I want to get into your heart...repent of your sins and be baptized.

DO YOU HAVE TO BE BAPTIZED TO GO TO HEAVEN?

We want people to realize and understand that for you to have salvation...for you to make it to heaven where Jesus Christ is...or your mom, dad, brother, sister, wife or anybody that you love who are in heaven, you have to repent of your sins and be baptized.

Those people that had crucified Jesus Christ in Acts 2:...Peter had preached to them...Acts 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. KJV  He is our Redeemer.  He is our Salvation.  It is through him and through repentance that we have this ability.

BAPTIZED VERSES  37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? KJV

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. KJV

It is important for you to turn from your wicked way...turn to God and start living for him.  Not only do you need to quit sinning, you need to start doing things that are pleasing in his sight...repent and be baptized and even greater than that.  Once you have got all that cleaned out, you need the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

John said, Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: KJV

John 14:16 Jesus said, "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;" KJV Let that Holy Ghost come into your heart and in your life.  Wash away your sins.  Be clean.  Don't let anyone tell you that you can live anyway you want to, and just accept Jesus Christ that he is Lord.

Just as when you are buried...your arms are folded...you quit breathing, and you are buried in the ground.  When the resurrection comes, you will come up with a newness of life...with a different body.  That's the way things are.

WHAT DOES BAPTIZED MEAN When you are baptized in Jesus Christ, you take off and destroy that body of sin.  You walk a new life.

God Knows Your Name

A Holy Bible photo black in color.

 "God Knows Your Name"

God has a purpose for us in his work, and he knows us by name...that should make our hearts rejoice.

When Jesus Christ resurrected (came up out of the grave), the bible said Mary had went to the tomb where he was at.  She didn't know who he was.  She thought he was just a gardener but the Lord knew who she was, and he called her by name.

He said, "Mary".  Can I tell you, when you enter into the portals of glory where God the Father is...don't you know he is going to know your name?  He is going to welcome you in.  "Welcome Home."

Matthew 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

What a day when we go in to see the loving Father that loves us so much that he said, "The meek shall inherit the earth". KJV

He has got it all planned out just for you and me.  For what?  Eternal life and eternal salvation...everything you will ever need.

Are you ready for that?  That is the question.

When Jesus Christ was crucified, they beat him unrecognizable.  He was ready to go.

Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. KJV

Do you know Jesus Christ as your Saviour?  If you don't, I would love to introduce you.  He is the Son of the living God.  He is the pillar and the ground of the truth.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  KJV

Only through Jesus Christ can we make it.  Do you trust in the Lord?

Repentance

The words "sorry".

 "REPENTANCE"

 A Godly Sorrow Brings Repentance

I want to show you what it means to have a godly sorrow.  You can say you are sorry all day long.  And a lot of people have sorrow. They have the sorrow of the world but a Godly sorrow brings repentance.  It brings a change into your life.

In 2nd Corinthians, 7:8 "For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season. 9 Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance:" So, you see, he is showing that there is a difference in just being sorry.  There is a godly sorrow.

When you truly have a godly sorrow in your heart and in your mind for the things that you have done wrong, it will cause you to turn.  See, being sorry is not what meant that he was turned.  He was sorry for what he did.  He had the godly sorrow that caused him to turn.  I hope you can see that.

Repentance  is not just saying, "I'm sorry for what I've done".  Repentance is actually turning from that.  9 "Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death."

Love of the Brotherhood

Pastor Stoney with Ben ( a church brother in the ministry)

"Love of the Brotherhood"
Do you love your brothers and sisters?

God has given us everything that we have.  What do you have that you have not received?  We are thankful for that.  I want you to think about this...since the beginning of time after that God sent Adam out of the garden...and he drove the devil out, the Bible said he placed  cherubs and a flaming sword to keep the way of the tree of life.

Isaiah 35:8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. 9 No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:

Pastor Stoney during a Sunday morning service.

God has a place for us today!  It is in His house

1 Peter 2:17  - Love of the Brotherhood

Sometimes we preach these things in a manner of correction...I would love the Lord help me to preach this in a way of encouragement.

1 Peter 2:17 KJV Honor all men.  Love the brotherhood.  Fear God.  Honour the king...That's what I want you to keep on your mind. Are we doing what would be pleasing to the Lord?  Has God spoken to you?

If God has spoken to you, then you would have compassion on those people that need help...those people who are starving to know salvation...those people who need someone to lift them up in a time when they are down...in a time when they are afflicted...in a time of imprisonment...in a time of downheartedness...in a time of having trouble in their mind...trouble in their heart...the people who can't feel the way they want to when they come to church.

These are the kind of things that a true Christian will have a heart for and want to reach a helping hand. These are the kind of things I love to see people trying to help other people with...not just their family but others.

Do you love your Brothers and Sisters?  Just thank the Lord for those that are with you.

I still have the same goal that I started out with to make heaven my home.  I want to go there someday.  I've heard about a place where there's no sickness, pain, dying or sorrow.  Everything of an evil nature that we know in this life will be gone.  It will have its place in hell.

Are we doing what would be pleasing to the Lord?

The Story of Christmas

The "Christmas Story Scene".
The Story of Christmas

Not everybody that seeks the Lord has good intentions.

It's not everybody that seeks the Lord has good intentions.  There have been Christmas programs each year telling about Joseph and Mary with Baby Jesus lying in a manger who was born in Bethlehem for many years.

In Isaiah 9:6 KJV  6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

We know this child was born and history will declare it to be true.  These words you see or hear read quite often around Christmas time, means a lot to the Christian. The words that are in here are our life. It is something we should all seek for and have an understanding of.  We should realize the joy that goes along with what this verse says.

God told his son in Hebrews 1:5 KJV,  5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, THOU ART MY SON, THIS DAY HAVE I BEGOTTEN THEE? And again, I WILL BE TO HIM A FATHER, AND HE SHALL BE TO ME A SON?  6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, AND LET ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD WORSHIP HIM.

7 And of the angels he saith, WHO MAKETH HIS ANGELS SPIRITS, AND HIS MINISTERS A FLAME OF FIRE.  8  But unto the Son he saith, THY THRONE, O GOD, IS FOR EVER AND EVER: A SCEPTRE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS IS THE SCEPTRE OF THY KINGDOM.

Many times, stories have been told about the Wise Men coming from afar seeking the small child.  They had been sent by King Herod who was ruling the world in that day. When the Wise Men were there with King Herod, he told them to go find that child, go seek after him and find him that he may come and worship him.

But King Herod had no intentions of worshiping the Lord the way Christians worship him.  King Herod knew Jesus was a threat.  His soul purpose was to get rid of the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings.

When you start talking about seeking the Lord, what are your intentions?  The bible teaches us to seek him...call on him while he is near.  It is our job and our duty to seek the Lord
