THE JESUS ONLY DOCTRINE

The Church of God believes there is a Personal God

The Church of God of the Union Assembly believes there is a personal God, and he has a glorified body; and never did, nor never will, have a natural body.  We believe the Son was with him in a glorified state just like he was until God gave him to save the world if they would believe on him.  He had to take upon himself a natural body so that he could be a merciful and an all-wise Saviour because he had to be tempted in all points as we are, yet without sin.

Hebrews 2nd Chapter, 18th verse; Hebrews 4th Chapter, 15th verse; -  James 1st Chapter, 17th verse.  "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."

This doesn't mean that Jesus was God, but it did mean that Jesus was a perfect gift and came down from God, but we do believe that men in the spirit have seen God.  We don't believe that any man in the flesh has seen God.

We refer you to the following scripture:  Genesis 32nd Chapter, 29th and 30th verses, "And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name.  And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name?  And he blessed him there. 30  And Jacob called the name of the place Pe-ni'-el: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved."

Exodus 24th Chapter, 11th verse:  "And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand:  also they saw God, and did eat and drink."  Exodus 33rd Chapter, 21st, 22nd and 23rd verses; Revelation 5th Chapter, 1st, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th verses.  The above scriptures will prove to a honest man that men in the spirit have seen God.

(We believe that God is the express image of his Son's person) --Read Hebrews 1st Chapter, 1st, 2nd and 3rd verses;...Colossians 1st Chapter, 15th verse:--"Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:...". We believe that the Son of God was seen many times and places before he was born of the Virgin Mary.

I will refer you to Daniel 3rd Chapter, 25th verse:  "He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God."

We don't believe that God was there but we do believe that the Son was there, and he was referred to as Michael the archangel (Jude, 9th verse).  Referred to in Daniel 12th Chapter, 1st verse, as Michael the prince.

Matthew 3rd Chapter, 17th verse separates the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.  The Son was baptized in the water, and the Spirit lit upon him like a dove.  And God spoke from heaven, saying, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

Jesus taught his disciples all the time while he was on earth that his Father was in heaven, and that heaven was above.  Matthew 7th Chapter, 21st verse, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

An image of hands closed together as in prayer on top of a Bible.

I will refer you to Matthew 12th, 50th verse; Matthew 17th Chapter 5th verse; St. John 14th Chapter, 10th, 20th and 28th verses;... St. John 15th Chapter, 1st verse:  "I AM the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.  Now the vine is not the husbandman neither is the husbandman the vine, but the husbandman has power over the vine.

The branches are not the vine neither the vine the branches, but the vine has power over the branches."  St. John 16th Chapter, 27th, 28th and 30th verses:  "For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.   I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father."

St. John 17th Chapter, 1st, 11th, 18th, 21st, 22nd and 25th verses;...St. John 20th Chapter, 17th verse: "Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God."

Acts 1st Chapter, 9th verse:  "And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.  10  And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;  11  Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven?  this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven."

1 Corinthians 3rd Chapter, 22nd verse:  "Whether Paul, or A-pol'-los, or Ce'-phas,  or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your's;  23  And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's."  Ye are Christ's didn't mean that I was Christ, or that you are Christ.  And that Christ is God's didn't mean that Christ was God.

1 Corinthians 8th Chapter, 6th verse:  "But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him."  (But to us there is but one God, the Father...).

The word "us" means to the people that can see the difference between the Father and the Son, and one Lord Jesus Christ.  We see it just like it is written:  1 Corinthians 11th Chapter, 3rd verse:  "But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ;".  This didn't mean that every man was Christ, and the head of the woman is the man.  This didn't mean that the woman was the man.  And the head of Christ is God.  This didn't mean that Christ was God.

Philippians 2nd Chapter, 5th and 6th verses: "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:  6  Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:".  This word being in the form of God didn't mean that he is God, but he was equal with God, because he did what God told him to do.  And if we do what Jesus has told us to do, we will be equal with Christ, but we won't be Christ.

When they saw Jesus, they saw God for the life of God was manifested in his mortal flesh because he did what his Father told him to do.  And the life of Christ is manifested in our mortal flesh if we do what he has commanded us to do, but we will never be Christ, no more than Jesus will be God.

I will refer you to Matthew 25th Chapter, 40th and 45th verses.  This will show you that when you feed anyone whom Jesus sends, you feed him, and when you reject one of these whom Jesus sends, you reject him.  I will refer you to Galatians 2nd Chapter, 20th verse: "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me:".

Colossians 3rd Chapter, 3rd verse:  "For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God."  If your life is hid away with Christ the world can see nothing but the life of Christ in you.  Jesus asked his Father to make his disciples one, even as him and his Father were one.

And we will find where his prayer was fulfilled in Acts 2nd Chapter, 44th and 45th verses;... Acts 4th Chapter, 32nd verse:  "And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul:  neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common."

The word said they were all of one heart.  That didn't mean there was just one heart, but there were many hearts but all the selfishness had disappeared and the life of Christ was manifested in every one of them, but still it was not Christ, but the one life was many people who claim that Father isn't a name.  The Father is a name to his own children and they should call him Father.  There is a natural father which all children should honor as head of the natural family.  There is a spiritual Father which all children should honor as the spiritual head.

An image of a sign surrounded by leaves with the words "God is Faithful" spelled out on it.

Some people claim the word God means power.  The word of God doesn't mean power, but the word God means a supreme being that has the power.  Some preachers have the people deceived trying to make them believe that the ceremony that the preachers says over the candidate when he baptizes him in water should be Lord Jesus.

Jesus Christ gave the very words to be used by the preacher when he baptizes the people: Matthew 28:19 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:".  Jesus intended them to do just what he taught them to do.

Neither Peter, Paul, nor anyone else has any right to change what he said, and we don't aim for you to give any private interpretation because II Peter 1st Chapter, 20th verse, reads as follows:  "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation."

But the misunderstanding of the way the Apostles told the candidate to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus...they didn't mean for them to be baptized in the name of Paul, or of A-pol'-los, but they must go into the water because Jesus went for an example to them and not Paul.

An image of a Pastor in the water with a candidate to be baptized at Redwine's Cove in Dalton, GA.

It doesn't make any difference what kind of a ceremony the preacher says if the candidate doesn't go into the water in the name of the Lord Jesus; he just goes in dry and comes out wet, but if the candidate goes in and the preacher is legally ordained, and puts him under the water like Jesus told him to do, when he comes out of the water he is legally baptized.

The reason that Jesus gave his Father's name, first, because repentance is toward God.  Next, faith in Jesus Christ.  Next, we have peace with God.  Repentance brings love;  Sanctification brings joy;  Holy Ghost brings peace.

I trust this writing on the Father and the Son will open the understanding of honest people.  I and my wife are one.  If I were to send my wife anywhere and they didn't receive her, they wouldn't receive me either, but still there are two of us.  I and my wife are like God and his Son---we are one.  God sent his Son and every one that received him receiveth the Father.

And Jesus said in Matthew 18th Chapter, 5th verse: "And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me."  Matthew 10th Chapter, 40th verse:  "He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me."  This will show you that the same connection between the Father and the Son is between Jesus and the preacher.

May God help you to read and understand is my prayer..."consider what we say, and the Lord will give you understanding in all things".

What is The Church?

WHAT IS THE CHURCH?

The Church is a Spiritual Organization

The Church of God is a spiritual organization organized by spiritual men, that God has called and qualified, agreeing on the word of God, making rules, and all agreeing to follow the rules.  Who is a worthy member?  One who has repented of his sins and been baptized in water.

Is a man born into the Church?  I say No.  He has to join the church, which means to add or unite...All having the same meaning.  A man joins his wife, or is added to or united to her, which are all the same. If a man was born into the church, then man would not have anything to do with the church.  But man has all to do with it since Jesus went away and delivered the gospel to the preacher.  For Jesus said the works that I do, shall ye do, and greater works than these because I go to my Father.  Some people will tell you anywhere two or three of God's children are gathered together that is where the church is.  But this is not true.  Two or three cannot be a church according to what Jesus said himself.  I will prove this by the word.  Matthew 18th Chapter, beginning at the 15th verse:  "Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone:  if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.  16: But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in THE MOUTH OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY WORD MAY BE ESTABLISHED.  17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.  18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

Now you can see by the above word that two or three are not the church.  And if the church does business according to the word of God and you are dismissed, according to the word of God you surely will be bound in heaven.  There is but one way to deliver yourself and that is confess to the church for your wrongdoings.  There are many preachers of today who don't believe in any church; they claim they were born into it, and that man has nothing to do with it.  I am sorry for the crowd of people that will let such preachers as this lead them when they have no Bible for their doctrine.  The crowd that refuses to submit themselves one to another according to the word of God cannot be right.  They say you are born into the church.  If their statement was true the poor woman would surely be lost, for the word says in 1 Corinthians 14th Chapter, 34th verse:  "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law."  35th verse:  "And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church."  The poor woman would always be in the church.  If she was born into it, she would have to always keep her mouth shut.  This is no church crowd.  When you name the above word they will acknowledge that this is in business.  The Church of God confessed that this has reference to business meetings of the church, but if this no church crowd has any business, it is bound to be piddling business.  And if the people were born into the church, as they confess, you would be in the church at home just the same as you would be when you were at the church house.

the Church of God of the Union Assembly in Dalton, GA.

Apostle Paul wrote to the church which was at Corinth.  They were organized at Corinth and did business there just like the Church of God does now.  Now this Church that Paul wrote to was at Corinth, not at Jerusalem.  And to show you that the above statement is true, I will refer you to 1 Corinthians 5th Chapter, beginning at the first verse:  "IT is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.  2  And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you."  4th verse:  "In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,  5  To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.  6  Your glorying is not good.  Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?  7  Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened."

The above word is plain enough that any sane person ought to understand.  This fornication was still in the church of God, that was at Corinth.  Paul never told them not to have anything to do with this fellow, just go off and let him alone, but he told them when they came together.  Who?  The Church of God at Corinth to deliver such one unto Satan.  Why did Paul say, "when you come together"?  Because you can't do business in a church until you do come together.  Why did Paul say, "ye are unleavened"?  Because there was a fornicator in the Church and the people were puffed up and not rather mourned.  Cast out the old leaven that ye may be a new lump.  If the church allows fornicators to stay in a church when they have knowledge of it, it will destroy the whole church.  I will also call your attention to the last of the above chapter.  9  "I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:  10  Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.  11  But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.  12  For what have I to do to judge them also that are without?...God judgeth them...13 Therefore PUT AWAY FROM AMONG YOURSELVES THAT WICKED PERSON."

Paul was a good instructor.  He told us not to keep company with a brother who would do such things, but if it was some one outside of the church, God would judge them; we have nothing to do with them that are outside the church; we just judge them that are within.

Paul said put that wicked one from among yourselves.  If you were born into the church, where would you put him? You certainly would have to put him out of the world.  I will refer you to Acts, 13th Chapter, 1st verse:  "NOW there were in the church that was at An'-ti-och certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Ni'-ger, and Lu'-cius of Cy-re'-ne, and Man'-a-en, which had been brought up with Herod the te'-trarch, and Saul.  2  As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.  3  And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away."

Now if you will notice these people were in the church that was at Antioch, not out of the church, as they fasted and prayed.  The Holy Ghost said, "Separate me Barnabas and Saul."  I will ask you a question right now.  Did you ever hear the Holy Ghost speak except it spoke through a human being?  I will say no.  Because Jesus said, "When ye are brought before kings and rulers think not what ye shall say, for in the selfsame hour it shall be given you.  And it is not you that speaketh but the Holy Ghost which is in you."  They will say that man has nothing to do with it.  Why did they lay hands on them before they sent them away?  If people were born into the church there would not be but one and it would be as big as the world and Acts 14th Chapter 23rd verse would never have been written, which is as follows:  "And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed."

Why is it that you no church people are so far away from what the Bible says?  Romans, Chapter 16, verse 17,  When God told us to...mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.  18 "For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple."  The Church of God certainly intends to mark you with all the rest that cause division.  If the doctrine these no church people preaches is true, why was the 14th Chapter of 1 Corinthians, 18th-19th verses written?  18  "I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:  19  Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also,".  Why did Paul say this if he was born into the church?  For he certainly would have to stay in the church as long as he stayed in the world if he was born into it.  If you were born into the church, why was 1 Thessalonians, 2nd Chapter, 14th verse, "For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God..."  Why did he say churches if there was just one?  And how could you become followers of the churches if all the churches didn't follow the same rule?

These no church people seem afraid of joining something, so afraid of doing something wrong.  But they are not a bit afraid to join into an argument contrary to the word of God.  The Bible said: "They that are of God heareth God's word, and they that are not of God heareth not God's word, in this the spirit of truth and the spirit of error are manifested."  1 Corinthians 1st Chapter, 10th verse:  "Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment."  Now Paul, if you were here, these no church people would surely get after you, because you told the people to be joined together.  1 Corinthians, 6th Chapter, 15th verse:  "Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ?  shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot?  God forbid.  16  What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body?  for two, saith he, shall be one flesh."  When the word says "body of Christ", it has reference to the church.  When he said, "Ye are members of his body", this means you are members of the church, because the church is the body of Christ.  "shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot?  God forbid."  You have no right to join anything that is called a Church but the Church of God.  God has forbid it.  And to prove to you that the body of Christ is the church, and the church the body, I will refer you to Ephesians, 1st Chapter, 22nd and 23rd verses:  22  "And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,  23  Which is his body, (not maybe it is) the fulness of him that filleth all in all."  I will also refer you to Colossians 1st Chapter, 18th and 24th verses,  18  "And he is the head of the body, the church:  who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the pre-eminence.  24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:".  Now are ye members of Christ which is the church.  1 Corinthians, Chapter 6, verse 15: "Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ?  shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot?  God forbid. 16  What?  know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body?  for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.  17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit."

I want to write this in a simple childlike way until the people that want to understand may understand.  In 1 Corinthians, 12th Chapter, 13th verse:  "For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, (or Church)."  Every preacher that has the spirit of the world baptizes everyone into the Church of God.  Every sect has a different spirit, and a different body to put his members in when they are baptized.  We get into any sect by joining.  Unless you join you cannot be a member of the Church of God.  Neither can you be a member of an harlot unless you join.  God himself recognized the form of a sect, but he condemns them because they deny the power.  To prove this is so, I will refer you to 2 Timothy, 3rd Chapter 5th verse:  "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof:  from such turn away."  I will now refer you to 1 John, 1st Chapter, 3rd, 4th, 5th verses: "That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.  4  And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.  5  This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.  6  If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:"

Right here we want to explain what walking in darkness means.  Walking in the darkness means division, "Where there is division ye are carnal and walk as men."  The carnal mind is not subject to the law of God.  There will always be division against the word of God because they are following the creature instead of following the creator.  The 7th verse is the remedy for division, "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."  If we will walk in the light, as God is in the light, you will walk in the Church of God.  Because God is in the light of the one church and the one way.  Acts, 4th Chapter, 32nd verse: "And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul:  neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common."

Acts, 2nd Chapter, 42nd verse:  "And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers."  Now we all know if we would come back to the apostles' doctrine that we would all be in fellowship with each other.  This is what is the matter with the world today.  Everyone wants his own way.  This is the reason there are so many different ways.  All congregations ought to hold their preacher to the New Testament doctrine; it would not be long until we would know who is right.  We have people who are preaching that eight angels dressed in white came down from heaven and ordained them, and some silly folks are believing their doctrine.  God said (Galatians, Chapter 1, 8th verse), "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed."  The church wants to put the Bible just like it reads, and condemn everything else.

Now I am sorry for the people who will allow such ignorant preachers to mislead them.  They will also tell you that you cannot show them where any one could put you out of the church.  God's word said: "He cast them out of the church, not the world.  Let God be true and every man a liar."  St. John, 10th Chapter, 1st verse: "VERILY, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber."  7th verse:
An image of a bible with verses showing.

"Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep."  8th verse:  "All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them."  9th verse:  "I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture."  Go in and out, this surely doesn't mean heaven, for when you get into the paradise of God you will never go out any more.  The sheepfold has reference to the church house.  And to be a legal member of the church you must go in by the door, but if you get in without going in by the door you are a thief and a robber.  If you are saved and do not join the Church of God you have your light under a bushel and no one can see your light.  But if you do your duty you will put it on the candlestick.

I will refer you to Revelation 1st Chapter, 20th verse: "and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches."  You can see by the word when you don't bring your light to the Bible church, you are failing to let your light shine as you are commanded to do.  Is there any such a thing as an independent Church of God? No.  They are all united together if they are on the word of God.  And if they are not on the word of God they are in error and are not spiritual, and the word says, (Galatians, Chapter 6, verse 1),"ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted."  Did each church settle its own doctrine in the days of the apostles?  I say no by the authority of God's word.  I will refer you to Acts 15th Chapter, 1st-2nd verses: "AND certain men which came down from Ju-dae'-a taught the brethren, and said,  Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.  2  When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question."  I will ask you why they had to go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders about this question?  If there was no way of settling questions among the apostles and elders, and to show you that the apostles and the elders were separated into an ecclesiastical body separated from the church for the purpose of settling questions of doctrine to keep division out of the churches.  I will refer you to the 4th verse of the above chapter.  "And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders,".  I will also refer you to the 24th and 25th verses of this same chapter:  "Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:  25  It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,   26  Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."

The Kings James Version Bible.

They had the doctrine already settled among the apostles and elders, but these fellows went out and preached contrary to what they had agreed upon, because the word said we gave them no such commandment.  We have some of the same characters to contend with in these last days.  25th verse says "being assembled with one accord,".  They had much disputing before this verse was written, just like our Assembly does in this day, but we never have failed to close the Assembly without all being agreed.

The doctrine we do not agree on, we agree to leave it alone until another time.  Some people try to condemn Union.  The word "union" means coming together, agreeing, harmony, one accord, and you must certainly have natural union before you can have spiritual union.  And before you can have unity you must have union.  There is natural union and spiritual union.  We must have spiritual union because the Bible says, "Let us come and reason together."  The Church of God is not the Assembly.  Neither is the Assembly the church.  The churches are just under the doctrine that is established by the Assembly, and the Assembly is the governing body of the churches.  All debates and arguments on questions of the Bible teachings are forbidden in the churches by the Assembly, and must be personally settled or taken to the Assembly to be settled according to the word of God.

The Church of God is no more the Assembly than the 48 States of the United States are Congress and Senate.  The Congress and Senate are just the law making bodies that are chosen by the different states to enact laws to govern these states.  The Apostles and Elders of the different churches make the Assembly and they enact such laws and rules as are needful to keep the church in harmony with the word of God.  The Church of God means a house dedicated for this special purpose of doing business for God, and a congregation of people who have joined themselves together and have agreed to abide by the word of God.  All ministers preach the same thing, making rules and agreeing to fellow them.  All rules are to be established by the New Testament.  To show you that the above statement is true I will refer you to 1 Timothy, 3rd Chapter, 14-15th verses:  "These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly:  15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth."  Read 1 Corinthians 11th Chapter, 22nd verse:  "What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in?  or despise ye the church of God,...?"  The above word will show you that in referring to the church we always refer to the church house because this is the place where the saints of God gather to worship God.  It is just common language to refer to the house that is prepared for this purpose as being the church, because the people meet in it to transact business for God.

An image of a book representative of a "Church Roll Book".

Did the early church have their names put on record?  Yes.  If they had not we would not know any of the names of the Bible writers.  Revelation 3rd Chapter, 4th verse:  "Thou hast a few names even in Sar'-dis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy."

Among the holiness movements we have the most unlawful, unruly and the farthest out of harmony with God's word of any class of people in the world.  Because they claim the highest standard of religion, and ignore what God said in his word.  Preachers grab their Bible, run off preaching by random claiming that God has sent them fighting all organization and all rules of the church, refusing to submit themselves to anyone.  All in violation of the word of God.  This way just suits people who want to do as they please.  They are born into what they are in and cannot be gotten out.  They can lie, chew tobacco, ride around with other men's wives, contrary to the will of their husbands, and also against the wishes of his wife, and still claim "I am a holiness preacher, and I was born into the church and you can't get me out".  He told the truth, for he isn't in anything but the world.

To show you all that does such are in violation to the word of God, 1Timothy 3rd Chapter, 1st verse:  "THIS is a true saying,  If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.  2  A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach;  3  Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;  4  One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5  (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)".  So you can see by the above word of God that a man has something to do more than just grab his Bible and run.  He must prove himself and have a rule over his house because the preacher is the one that takes the oversight of the church of God.

To show you how you may know the real preacher that God has sent, I will refer you to Romans, 13th Chapter, 3rd and 4th verses:  "For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil.  Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power?  do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4  For he is the minister of God to thee for good.  But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God,  a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil."

A man that does not believe in a church being ruled like a man should rule his own house, ought not to say a word if some other man should come and take charge of his house and children, because one man would have as much right as another.  The one that arrives first would be the legal custodian.

In winding up on this subject I will refer you to Hebrews, 13th Chapter, 7th-17th verses:  "Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation."  The word says, "Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God:".  If a man preaches to you the word of God and his faith follows, he certainly has the keys of loosing and binding, and there is no remedy for you unless you submit yourself to such an one.  It is God's heaven and you are certainly not going there unless you go God's way.  17th verse:  "Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls,....".

There are men who are trying their very best to get the word of God to people so they may understand the right way.  I have written on this subject without prejudice toward anyone.  I wish that everyone who may read this may consider what I say, that they may get eternal good out of this.  Time will not permit me to write what I would like to on this subject.  Anyone who may read this that would like to ask a question on any part of this book, write me personally to (P. The Millennial Reign - A Doctrinal Statement

Part 1. The Millennialist View : Historic Millennialism can be sub-divided into 4 categories.

1) Pre-tribulation Rapturists.  2) Mid-tribulation Rapturists, and 3) Post-tribulation Rapturists.  4) A forth view... Dispensational Millennialism has captured the hearts and minds of many seminarians and teachers in recent years.  This becomes especially curious when one examines this doctrine in light of its shockingly short history.

For the purpose of simplicity, we will point out the common threads of these views.  We will examine their accompanying proof texts.  Then we will view both the threads and their texts through the filter of scripture.

All four views mentioned above share several common tenets.  All expect a future physical earthly reign of Christ.  This is supposedly based on 1st Thessalonians 4: 13-18.  Revelation 20 1-10, 1st Corinthians 15: 51-58, and Matthew 24.  The Dispensationalist position will be dealt with separately since it enjoys the current popular position.

All 4 of these views also teach the establishment of the throne of Christ set up in Jerusalem.  Many books and series of novels have been published suggesting that there will be a physical restoration of the kingdom during which Christ will sit on the throne in Jerusalem and execute judgment.  These ideas are based on several Old Testament prophecies that had Israel not rebelled and disobeyed God, would have been fulfilled.

The Dispensationalist takes his position several steps further.  Based primarily on C.I. Scofield and his Scofield

Reference Bible, the Dispensationalist believes and teaches that God has 2 peoples, 2 plans of salvation, and 2 futures for each of God's peoples.

Remember, the idea of a physical, earthly kingdom is not a new one.  First century Jewish leaders and teachers were looking for and expecting this very thing.  Present day pious Jews are of the same belief.  More distressing is the fact that many 21st Century evangelicals are expecting the same thing.  Apparently disregarding Daniel's prophecy regarding Christ's kingdom.  Also ignoring John the Baptist's preaching.  And most distressing is their total disregard for Christ's own preaching.  Even the apostle to the church, Paul, is ignored when these otherwise intelligent believers position themselves with present day millennialism.  Christ was rejected because he preached, "my kingdom is not of this world", and "the kingdom of God is within you".  The gospel of Jesus changed the world because of the foundational doctrine preached by Paul that "the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost".

The doctrine of Dispensational Millennialism was unheard of until a young Scottish girl named Margaret McDonald had a dream, which she related to her pastor, Edward Irving.  Who in turn related it to a visiting preacher name John Nelson Darby.  (Founder of the Plymouth Brethren).  Darby made it part of his theology.  A student and friend of his, C.I. Scofield, incorporated this idea into his Scofield Reference Bible (SRB).  The SRB became standard issue at several Bible schools, particularly Moody Bible Institute.

The Moody Bible Institute.

The only time in 18 centuries of church history that this concept was heard of prior to this was in a novel written by Jesuit priest under the assumed name of a Jewish Rabbi.  Emmanuel Lacuna, also, Rabbi Ben Ezra.  From these humble beginnings it has become a foundational doctrine of the pre-millennial 1000 year reign of Christ.

Just imagine, no one, not our Lord, not the apostles, not the church fathers, not Augustine, regarded as the greatest theologian the church has ever had, not Luther, Calvin, Knox or Wesley or any other of the reformers ever even suggested such a laughable idea.  And yet it has permeated into the mainstream of New Testament theology.  This is not to say that new revelation is not possible.  But they must pass the tests outlined in the accompanying introduction.  This doctrine of the 1000 year earthly reign does not.

Let us begin our examination Pre-Millennialism by giving 6 reasons why it could not possibly be validated with scripture.

An image of the Bible in the book of "John".

1)  It makes Christ's kingdom a physical, earthly one.  Jesus himself clearly and repeatedly said it was not.  John  18:36, Luke 17-21.

2)  It denies Christ's present kingdom.  Matthew. 28:18, Matthew 12:28 - 29th, Revelation 1:18

3)   It denies the Judgment Resurrection of the just and the unjust at the same time.  John 5:28 - 29th, II Thessalonians 1: 7-10

4)  It teaches a distinction between the Jews and Gentiles.  Ephesians. 2:11-22, Ephesians 3:26-29.

5)  It relegates Christ's church to replacement, substitute status.  Jesus Christ himself said "...the gates of Hell would not prevail against It"  Paul said, Christ "gave himself for it".

6)  It uses inconsistent interpretation and "exegesis" with regard to its application of the above-mentioned passages of scripture.

Perhaps the most damning indictment against this fallacy is the method of interpreting scripture that must be employed to reach these conclusions.  Typically evangelicals pride themselves in taking God at His word.  When trying to provide scriptural foundation for this doctrine, however; God's word apparently doesn't mean what it says but means something these Millennialists imagine it means.

Now, we will examine individually the aforementioned proof texts and let "scripture interpret scripture".

1)  I Thessalonians 4:13-18.  (13) "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.  (14)  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.  (15) For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  (16) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  (17)  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  (18)  Wherefore comfort one another with these words."

This passage is crucial to the Millennialist's argument that Christ will return twice in the future.  They teach that Christ returns to "catch away" his church to spare them from the tribulation...then returns again to set up his kingdom.  The text however does not separate the resurrection of the dead from the changing of the believer by 7 years, 1000 years, or 1 second.

2)  Revelation 20:1-10.  (1) AND I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.  (2)  And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,  (3) And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.  (4)  And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.  (5) But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.  This is the first resurrection.  (6)  Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.  (7)  And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,  (8) And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Ma'-gog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.  (9)  And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.  (10)  And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

An image of a map of Beersheba, Gaza and upwards of the country.

The importance of this passage to the Millennialist's position should be clear.  Their contention is that this period of time is a physical 1000-year time.  Let's just for a moment suppose that to be true.  If that is a literal span of time, wouldn't we then have to accept the rest of this passage, indeed the entire chapter, or better yet, all 22 chapters of this book to be literal in their context?  Not even the most liberal dispensationalist would presume this book to be taken literally in it's entirety.  But, if we have a doctrine that cannot be defended otherwise, then we must remove one verse from this passage full of symbolism and figurative imagery and apply it literally.  Further, if this passage is taken literally, then we must preach that the devil was not defeated at the resurrection of Christ.  Christ did say that all power was given to him, both in heaven and earth.  Finally, if this period of time were a future 1000-year time, this would deny the first resurrection of Christ.  As you read Matthew 27, you will understand that at Christ's resurrection, he was the firstborn of many brethren.  The final mistake Millennialists make is to apply this passage to the beginning if the reign of Christ, when in actuality it must be at the end of it.

3)  I Corinthians 15:51-58.  (51) Behold, I show you a mystery;  We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, (52) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.  (53)  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.  (54) So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality , then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.  (55)  O DEATH, WHERE IS  THY STING?  O GRAVE, WHERE IS THY VICTORY? (56)  The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.  (57) But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  (58) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Millennialists can't seem to agree on the meaning of this passage.  Some believe it refers to the first second coming and others believe it refers to the third appearance of Christ.  Neither of these arguments is valid when one reads the 24th, 25th and 26th verses.  Paul said Christ would "deliver up" the kingdom at the end...not set up the kingdom 1000 years before the end.  Also of significance in the 51st thru 58th is the description of events that occur at Christ's return.  "We shall all be changed"...remember that the author of this letter also wrote the letter to the church at Thessalonica.  Have you ever wondered why Paul did not use the same language here that he used there?  If he described a secret catching away of the saints in I Thessalonians, why did he not use the same language here?  Because he did not intend that meaning that is why.  Millennialists must change the meaning in both passages to arrive at their conclusions.

4)  Matthew 24:  This chapter begins with the disciples asking our Lord some questions.  He answered these questions as any good teacher would.  Before he began his response, he charged them with the words, "Take heed that no man deceive you".  We would do well to heed that advice.  Christ spent some time going into great detail regarding the fulfillment of his prophecy.  Actually the next 30 verses contain a description of the destruction of Jerusalem he prophesied.  Then Jesus changes thoughts in verse 36.  Here, he begins to answer the second question.  The remainder of this chapter contains his foretelling of his return.  He does so with illustrations and O.T. scriptures the disciples would easily understand.  Millennialists for 160 years have denied actual 1st Century history by assigning this entire chapter to Christ's return.  Moreover, he specifically and clearly states who would be taken and who would be left.  Again, this is a clear example of selective interpretation and application.  Millennialists must misinterpret and misapply this passage to defend their position.  Instead of allowing scripture to determine the theology, they arrive at their theology then pick and chose parts of select passages to support it.

In part 2 of this paper, we will examine scripture and let it determine our position on this doctrine.

THE LAST AND FINAL RESURRECTION

A cross with a stormy looking background.

"THE LAST AND FINAL RESURRECTION"

THERE WILL BE ONE MORE RESURRECTION

The Last Resurrection

I will now show you there won't be but one more resurrection in the future.  The good and the bad will all be raised at the same time.  St. John 5:28-29th verses.  "Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation."

When you read these verses don't try to change the reading to suit your tradition.  If you are in Christ, you will see the things as they are.  St. John, 11:24 "Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day," and her brother would not rise until the last day.  I am a preacher and I have been teaching the people the same thing.  I have put in this little book why I have been teaching a resurrection at the last day, because Jesus said preach the word.  St. John, 12:48 "He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day."  Is there any other day beyond the last day?  I say No.  The last day is the end of time.  I intend to put just plain simple facts in this little book until plain common people can understand it.

In the days of Jesus, many noble believed, but they wouldn't confess for fear they would be put out of their synagogues, because they loved the praises of men more than the praises of God.  This is why the world is divided into so many sects and all claiming they are right.  Jesus told us, "Let no man deceive you", if all these ways are right, there aren't any deceivers in the world today, and Jesus never meant what He said, when He said, "Let no division be among you".  St. John 6:39, "And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day."

This is Jesus speaking in regard to the Apostles that God gave to Him.  He said He would raise them up again at the last day.  When you read this I don't want you to try and twist it to make it mean a thousand years before the last day because you thousand-year people are awful bad at wresting the word of God to your own destruction.  I will also give you the 40th verse of this same chapter.  This has reference to those who saw Jesus with their natural eyes.  "And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day."  Don't try to change this because you can't.  You can only change your right to heaven.

I will now give you the 44th verse which has reference to us Gentiles.  "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day."  I am very sorry that many honest hearted people have been deceived by this doctrine, that Jesus will come in the future and set up a Kingdom and reign here a thousand years.  This is certainly false doctrine.  I challenge anyone to read one verse in the word of God where Jesus or any writer of the book ever said He would reign anywhere only on the right hand of God until all enemies are put under his feet, and the last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

I will ask you honest people who may read this book not to put too much confidence in what man says because with good words and fair speeches they deceive the heart of the simple.  Always be sure it is the word of God, because if the blind lead the blind they will both fall into the ditch.  St. John 6: 54th verse, this will show you that both Jew and Gentile, black and white, and all other peoples, "Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day."  II Timothy 4:7-8th verses where Paul confirms the last day, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."  This means everyone from the days of Christ, that loves Christ, will receive a crown of righteousness when Paul gets his crown.  You need not worry about the doctrine that has been preached that you will be stolen away before the last day.  The children of God and the children of the devil are to stay here together until the last day and God will rain fire and brimstone down on this earth and the wicked will be taken and the righteous left, not the righteous be taken and the wicked left, as false teachers would have you believe.

I will give you the word of God to prove the things that I say are true.  Proverbs 2:20-22 verses, "That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.  21 For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.  22 But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it."  Matthew 24:38th verse,  "For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that No'-e entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away;..."  You all know the flood took the wicked and left the righteous.  You need not try to twist out of this because you are in the net when you read this little book.  The wise shall understand but the wicked shall not understand.  They shall go on deceiving and being deceived.

A photo with lights and the word "HOPE" in lights.

You will find in Revelation 1:7 "Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him."  There isn't any way for you to change the reading of God's Word without taking your part out of the Lamb's book of life.

The good and the bad will stand at the last day and face what the word of God said.  You won't have any thousand years as the false teachers have told you.  Here is what will happen.  Revelation 22:12, "And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be." Every man will get his reward at that day, and not a thousand years later.  Jude 14 -15th verses, "And E'-noch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, 15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him."  I will give you a thousand years, teachers and preachers, a hypodermic which you will find in St. John 17:11-12th verses, "And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee.  Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.  12  While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled."  The 15th verse will put the capstone on your head: "I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil."  Jesus told you false teachers that He was no more in the world.

I don't care how much you paw and scrape and rare back in your false religion, Jesus will never come back here until the world is destroyed.  He has got to stay in heaven on the right hand of God until all enemies are put under his feet and the last enemy, to be destroyed, is death.  I am not trying to convince Scribes, Pharisees, Hypocrites, for Jesus said, "How shall ye escape the damnation of hell".  If He didn't know how they would escape I know Pratt doesn't.  I am writing this to honest, conscientious people who have been misled by these false teachers.  When you read this consider what I have said and the Lord will give you understanding in all things.

This bible subject is from the book "NOTICE TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE" BY C.T. Pratt - Founder written in 1948.  The Bible verses are from the King James Version.

The First Resurrection Has Been!

Photo with the words "Christ Is Risen".

  "THE FIRST RESURRECTION HAS BEEN!

Some Preachers Teach Otherwise

Most of the preachers of today teach that the first resurrection is yet to come in the future.  I say this is untrue.  If I could not give Bible quotations to prove I am right, I would not have made the above statement. When Jesus arose from the dead, many bodies of the saints arose and went into the Holy City and appeared unto many.  I will give you where this was prophesied of.  Isaiah 26:19th verse will show you.  "Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise.  Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead."  Hosea 6:2 "After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight."  This will show you that this was prophesied of before it happened. Matthew 27:52 "And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, 53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many."  This shows you that the above prophesy was fulfilled.

An empty tomb possibly in Jerusalem.

Revelation 14th Chapter, beginning at the 1st verse, will show you just how many arose with Jesus: 1 "And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four
thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: 3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.  4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins.  These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth.  These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. 5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God."

Isaiah 26:19 says: "Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust:"  In the 14th chapter of Revelation this prophesy was fulfilled.  They sang a new song and no man could learn this song but the hundred and forty and four thousand which were redeemed from the earth. This word "were" is in the past tense.  When the book of Revelations was written this had already happened.  If you will notice they followed the Lamb wheresoever he goeth and you know he went to heaven.  You also know Hosea said they would live together in his sight.  This hundred and forty and four thousand is the bride of God.  This is the predestinated crowd you will find in Romans 8:29: "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren."  30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. When this hundred and forty and four thousand was glorified, God changed headquarters from natural Jerusalem which was under bondage with her children to spiritual Jerusalem which is above which is the mother of us all.  As you will find in Galatians 4:25th - 26th verses.  No one could have been born again unless this hundred and forty and four thousand had been resurrected.  Because God didn't have a bride.  As you will find in Isaiah 50:1st verse, where he had put away the Jew for their disobedience.  God had to raise up this hundred and forty and four thousand.  These were from the twelve tribes of Jacob.  God raised them up to be his bride.  This is the predestinated crowd. This is from the righteous seed, which is Jacob.  They were Holy from their mothers' womb.  They never did commit sin.  The wicked are from Esau, which is the wicked seed.

You will find what I mean by the foreknowledge or the predestinated.  Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations."  The word said, "Blessed and holy is he who has a part in the first resurrection".  What makes us holy is having a part in Jesus Christ.  He is the resurrection and he is the life.  He hath begotten us again to a lively hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.  If there hasn't been a resurrection our hope is dead and we are all still in sin.

The above word is sufficient to convince all honest people that there has been a resurrection.  This hundred and forty and four thousand never was defiled with women.  Since the days of Christ, we have all sinned.  No man since the days of Christ could possibly be in the number that wasn't defiled with women, because all men have lusted after women.  Lusting after women since the days of Christ is the same as committing the very act before Christ.  I want every one who reads this to consider what I say, and the Lord will give you understanding in all things.
